The Alabama Board of Physical Therapy has deemed that you can see a physical therapist without a prescription if;

1.) It is for a screening to determine the need for Physical Therapy.

2.) It is for a previously diagnosed condition made within 90 days of the request for Physical Therapy.

Unfortunately, these assessments are not covered by insurance, but the fee for the assessment is nominal.
